What Will I Learn?

In AET30, you’ll learn about drive trains, hydraulic and pneumatic power, and what it’s like to be part of this in-demand career. This course consists of 50 hours of online theory, 40 hours of a work placement* at a local ag equipment dealership, and ~ 10-hour optional AET Boot Camp at Saskatchewan Polytechnic. *If you choose not to attend boot camp, you simply complete all 50 hours at the work placement.

Given the seasonal nature of the ag industry, this course is only offered in semester one, with 50 hours of course theory to be completed from September to mid-November and then 50 hours of work placement from mid-November to the end of the semester.

Student registration costs for AET 20 and AET 30 are FREE of charge to Saskatchewan students thanks to the generous support of WEDA, CEDF, and local agricultural equipment dealers across the province. Agricultural Equipment Technician 30L requires a work placement, therefore, scheduled work site visits by a Career Work Experience (CWEX) teacher from the student’s school division are also required. Teachers/ Students: Learn more about work placements.
